Our volleyball program has an outstanding reputation for developing volleyball athletes from top to bottom in every aspect of the game. When training all our athletes our coaches use the same fundamental coaching techniques base on the Gold Medal Squared style of skill breakdown. What this means is that all of our staff are on the same page when it comes to training our athletes. As the player moves through our training program they receive the same skills and techniques from each of our coaches which speed up their individual skill advancement and minimize setbacks due to difference in coaching philosophy. When the coaching style and philosophy is the same it creates structure for the athlete which in turn will advance the athlete to their highest potential for volleyball growth.
In our program we are dedicated to what is in the best interest for each and every player. What this means is that we strive to make the right decisions for all our athletes based on their current skill and their skill potential. Our desire is to help each and every girl to not only grow in her love of volleyball, but also help teach life lessons that will be carried with them as they grow into adulthood. Such skills that are taught through volleyball are skills like being competitive, confidence, decision making, dedication, integrity, passion, teamwork and success. There are many qualities and characteristics that are developed while playing sports and we work to use every facet of our sport to help teach these strong qualities in our young athletes.
Our Club Nutritionist has developed a comprehensive program for enhancing your body composition, improve strength & endurance, correct any nutrient deficiencies, and support muscular & skeletal growth and recovery. We identify the foods you enjoy eating, and create a balanced meal plan comprised of lean proteins, healthy fats, fruits & vegetables, whole grains & starchy vegetables, and sweets & treats. Our goal is to ensure each athlete builds a balanced whole foods sports diet, practice nutrient timing and hydration, and benefit of improved recovery.
Over the years our program has been able to assist families by helping their athlete get recruited to play in college. Our program has helped many youth athletes get recruited to play in college at all levels from Div. I, Div. II, NAIA, Div. III and Junior College. Our coaching staff has a wonderful reputation with college recruiters and takes every opportunity to communicate with college coaches to assist in the recruitment process. We also, as a Club, take the time to educate our families on what it takes to get recruited to play at the collegiate level. As a team between the player, the parent and the club, we all work together to help our athletes achieve their personal goals through the sport of volleyball.
Through the years we have had many opportunities to help assist our players and families in the recruitment process as they strive to become a college athlete. We have coached players that go on to commit to Division I colleges such as Cal, Central Arkansas, Duke, Fordham, Pepperdine, UNLV and Yale. Recently we have had some of our athletes commit to schools locally like Azusa Pacific, Cal Poly Pomona, Cal State Los Angeles, Concordia, Hope and La Verne. We work together as a team between our club, parents and player to help achieve their dreams of attending and playing for the college of their dreams.
Player Performance Analytics
NLSC Volleyball Club has partnered with Blast Motion and Herbalife to capture, analyze, and improve athlete performance. Each athlete will be provided their own Blast Motion sensor to use both during practice and anytime they’re training. The Blast Motion sensor and data will be used by coaches during practice and training to help improve overall athletic performance. In addition, Blast Motion helps parents capture key metrics and video to assist in the process of impressing High School coaches, and ultimately in the recruitment process for getting into the college of their choice.
Both athletes and coaches will utilize Blast Motion’s video capture application to obtain 1080p HD video of athlete performance. All metrics will be captured and stored within the app, available for review and enhanced coaching. In addition, key metrics will automatically integrate with the HD video, that will auto-curate, along with adaptive slow motion, to create high-quality highlight clips.
We work with athletes to understand the percentage of fat, bone, water and muscle in their body. With this understanding, we test athlete fatigue points to develop greater range of optimal performance. Lastly, and most critical, we prepare each athlete with the necessary nutrition and coaching for optimal pre-workout and post-workout for optimal recovery during recuperation time.
Vertical Time/Hang Time/Acceleration
The sports technology sensor provided by Blast Motion enables us to capture a wide variety of athletic performance metrics. We will capture Max Touch Vertical, 1-Step Vertical, Endurance Vertical, hang time (in-air), athlete acceleration off the ground, and many other important metrics.

Our coaching staff is special because of our genuine care of each and every girl in our program. By being a part of our volleyball club you will see a difference in how you daughter is treated not only by their own specific coach but also by the coaching staff as a whole. We encourage and inspire each of our athletes to perform at their peak potential. We want them to be excited to learn and to work hard to be their absolute best as we encourage them to work through challenges and adversities that in the end strengthen them in character and as people. Our job as a staff is to motivate each and every player, to help strengthen athletes both physically and mentally, to develop strong volleyball skills, teamwork and integrity into each of our athletes. By being part of our volleyball program our athletes develop into better teammates and positive qualities as strong young adults.
